Privacy Policy

1. Who We Are

Black Automations LLC ("Black Automations," "we," "our," or "us") publishes mobile applications on the Apple App Store. This Privacy Policy applies to all apps published by Black Automations.

2. Information We Collect

Our apps are designed to respect your privacy. We do not use advertising trackers, and we do not sell your personal information. Some of our apps include optional AI features; when you choose to use them, the content you submit for that feature is processed by a third-party AI provider as described in Section 5 (AI Processing). Apart from the service providers and AI providers described in this policy, our apps do not embed third-party analytics or advertising SDKs.

The only personal information we collect is what you voluntarily submit through an in-app feedback form:

  • Your email address (if you choose to provide it).
  • The message or feedback you write.
  • Basic device context included with the submission (such as app version and device model) to help us understand and respond to your feedback.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information you submit solely to:

  • Read and understand your feedback.
  • Respond to you if you provided an email address.
  • Improve our apps based on user suggestions and bug reports.

We do not use your information for marketing, advertising, profiling, or any purpose unrelated to your feedback.

4. Sharing of Information

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties. Feedback submissions may be processed through infrastructure providers (such as email delivery or cloud hosting) that are necessary to receive and store your message. These providers are contractually required to protect your data.

5. AI Processing

Some of our apps offer optional AI-powered features. When you use one of these features, the specific content you provide for that feature is sent to a third-party AI provider, processed, and the result is returned to you. AI features are clearly labeled, and content is sent only when you actively choose to use them.

The content sent depends on the app and the feature you are using:

  • Saffron — recipe text and photos you submit (AI recipe generator and recipe scanner), ingredient lists you submit for nutrition estimates, and the recipe and pantry details you submit for meal-plan generation.
  • Soil Mate — plant photos and any notes you add when you request a plant diagnosis.
  • PrepForge — the practice question, its answer choices, and the answer you selected, sent to generate an explanation. No account or identity information is included.
  • APT (Agentic Personal Trainer) — the workout or nutrition text, photo, or voice recording you submit, and the coaching questions you ask. Voice recordings are transcribed before parsing.

We rely on the following AI providers as sub-processors:

  • Anthropic, PBC (Claude AI models) — used by Saffron, Soil Mate, and PrepForge.
  • OpenAI, L.P. (GPT-4o and Whisper models) — used by APT for coaching, parsing, and voice transcription.

We send only the content needed for the feature you are using. We do not send your name, email address, or account identity to these providers. Under each provider's commercial API terms, the content we send is not used to train their AI models and is retained by the provider only for a limited period (up to 30 days) for abuse monitoring before it is deleted.

AI features are optional. Most of our apps ask for your consent before you first use an AI feature and let you turn AI processing off at any time in the app's Settings. You can also simply choose not to use AI features.

AI Features & Data Sharing (APT)

APT includes optional AI parsing that converts your typed, spoken, or photographed workout and meal notes into structured logs.

  • What is sent: only content you explicitly submit to an AI action — workout/meal text, voice recordings, and photos of workout logs or meals — plus an anonymous device identifier used solely for rate limiting.
  • Where it goes: content is transmitted through our secure proxy to OpenAI, which processes it to return structured results. Content sent via OpenAI's API is not used to train their models.
  • What is never sent: no name, email, account, contacts, location, or Apple Health data. APT has no accounts; your training history lives on your device.
  • Retention: our proxy does not retain your content server-side. Parsed results are returned to your device and stored only there.
  • Consent & control: AI features are off until you grant consent in the app, and you can revoke it anytime in Settings → AI Parsing. Manual logging works fully without AI.

6. Data Retention

We retain feedback submissions only for as long as needed to address the feedback and improve our apps. You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us.

7. Your Privacy Rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of any personal information we hold about you. To make a request, contact us using the details in Section 10. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe.

8. Children's Privacy

Our apps are not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required by applicable law). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has submitted personal data through one of our apps, contact us and we will promptly delete it.

9. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect the information you provide. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
